Pierce Ream was awarded the Beth Bash Memorial Award in recognition of his outstanding performance in theatrical production at J.P. McCaskey High School.
The award was presented by Lakisha Welch, Director of Theater at J.P. McCaskey High School. The award recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional achievement, dedication, and artistry within the school’s theatre program.
Ream received the honor for his portrayal of Florindo in Carlo Goldoni’s Servant of Two Masters, a classic work known for its demanding blend of physical comedy and emotional depth. His performance stood out for its strong stage presence, detailed character work, and ability to engage audiences throughout the production.
The Beth Bash Memorial Award is closely tied to Lancaster’s broader theatre community and the region’s high school theatre festival tradition at the Fulton Theatre. Lancaster native Jonathan Groff, who later achieved national recognition on Broadway and screen, received the Beth Bash Memorial Award in 2002 after directing and starring in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown as a student performer and director.
Ream’s recognition reflects both his individual achievement and his place within a continuing tradition of student performers in Lancaster who have demonstrated excellence on stage.
The Beth Bash Memorial Award remains a distinguished honor within the Lancaster theatre community, celebrating students who leave a lasting impact through their work in performance. Ream’s achievement highlights his dedication to the performing arts and his continued development as a performer.
